Zachy had his first taste of baby puffs! Well technically he tried one (too early) in Portland, OR, but this weekend I felt comfortable enough to let him play with and taste a small handful (a Zachy handful). I finger fed 3 or 4 to him, and he picked a few up with his fingers – it’s amazing how ginger he is when he examines things – he has amazing precision and manual dexterity. I always thought I would have to stop wearing dangle earrings or necklaces with him, but he is so gentle, and genuinely interested in inspecting things with his fingers. So sweet.
He is also scooching forward! No longer is he just wobbling up and down (he is till doing this), but he is also pulling himself forward to get form place to place, as well as rolling. In fact he figured out how to pull himself to the edge of the changing table when he is on his tummy. I know that the strap no longer keeps him safe. He is becoming more and more independent – this weekend I hope to start more baby proofing.
When I placed him on the floor to play, Zachy actually left his room! It took him 20 minutes, but he did it!
We also now have 2 pieces of artwork form daycare. I decided to fill the great void that is above his changing table with two frames that I can interchange artwork with. I am going to keep a gallery of his work and watch how it evolves over time…not that I expect him to become an artist or anything.
